About Kallan
Kallan is a Lutheran apostolic mission organization wanting to operate in faithfulness to the Bible and in openness to the Holy Spirit. The organization was founded by an initiative of Carl-Henrik Karlsson from a calling to reach out with the gospel and biblical teaching. We do this today, including the LIFE SOURCE magazine, books, short television programs as well as through meetings.
Three areas of work
Today it's possible to categorize Kallan's work in three areas, even if they are actually going into one another.
- Provide support for individuals and congregations through preaching and teaching. This we do through the Internet, Spring of Life, Books, and meetings in Sweden.
- Go out and talk about the vision and strategy "mission121". We want to help individual Christians to see that God can and wants to use each one of us. This we do through seminars, lectures, but also directly through our website. What makes mission121 unique is our clear focus on that it is God who equips us through His Word.
- Go out and talk about our work in India. We also extend to new areas. Now we are planning to translate and print the book Come and see also in Russian. We gladly reach out to churches and talk about what we do today, but also the opportunities that lie ahead.
History
Kallan was founded in 1999. But several years earlier, Carl-Henrik Karlsson had got the name Kallan, not knowing what that would ensue.
A small amount of capital allocated to Kallan, although Kallan did not yet exist ...
In the spring of 1999 thoughts about producing a tape with devotions began to take shape. The idea was that the band would be given out for free, but it would be able to give a gift for future work. To organize this in a proper way Kallan was founded. Cassette tapes were distributed, and gifts were received, which allowed a continuous operation.
The same year was also founded the magazine Livskällan (Spring of Life), which the first few years came out every month. Also the magazine was given out for free. The goal was clear from the outset - that in a simple way convey biblical teaching so people could grow in faith. Livskällan was not meant to be a newsletter that focused on Kallan, but on him that said in the last book in the Bible that he will soon return.
Time has passed and the business has evolved. But the devotions are durable and are still current. Livskällan is still an important channel for Kallan to reach out with the message. Based on this history, Kallan extends forward to be God's instrument of our time to communicate God's Word throughout the world.
Organization
Kallan is organized by a Swedish non-profit organization, with board and bylaws. Our registration number is 802415-9710.
